NULOOK is an enhanced petrophysical analysis which utilizes conventional open hole well logs. An accurate determination of effective porosity is derived using a proprietary multi-mineral based system which integrates a multi-source clay volume logic and a series of algorithms which yield a pores size distribution. The pore size distribution is based on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) data as well as an extensive core analysis database which gives an understanding of the texture of the reservoir rock. From this textural understanding, bound and free fluid are determined as well as a very robust permeability which correlates to core results.
NUVISION is the reservoir engineering department of NuTech. This is where reservoir characterization, dynamic data and financial attributes are integrated to optimize field development.
The NuView® process utilizes NuLook’s unique textural analysis and key petrophysical outputs, as well as interpreted seismic data and other geologic inputs to render field-wide 2- and 3-dimensional models of the structure, reservoir facies, petrophysical properties, and associated stratigraphic variance. The client gains a better understanding of the field’s reservoir character, property distribution and original in-place reservoir volumes (un-calibrated). The model can be up-scaled for inclusion into a multi-phase flow simulator at the client’s request.
The NUSTIM completion process is an eight-step design procedure, which links a normalized reservoir description (NULOOK) to past well records and history obtained in a field. Once this linkage is established, the process can then be used to predict well behavior prior to completion. Through implementation of the process, the optimal completion strategy for a new well or recompletion opportunity for an older well can be uncovered.
