Mr. Basham graduated in 1979 from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, and later earned a Master of Science degree in Geology in 1983. In his 30 plus years in the industry, Mr. Basham has held numerous positions:
- President/Explorationist with Avalon Energy, focused on prospect generation throughout Texas and Louisiana.
- General Manager/Explorationist with SouthTech Exploration, a group Mr. Basham helped form after developing proprietary 3-D surveys with Spudco Geological Services. As a direct result of implementing these 3-D shoots, the group completed 79 of 87 drilled wildcat wells averaging 3.5 bcfg per well.
- Sr. Geologist - Gulf Coast Exploration, Enserch Exploration Co, focused on prospect generation and specific drilling recommendations throughout South Louisiana, Texas and State Waters.
- Mr. Basham’s early geological familiarity came while working with Getty Oil, Mobil, and Sandefer Oil & Gas.
