NuLook™ Complex Vision

Determining the appropriate matrix is critical in computing the correct effective porosity (PHIE). Multi-min programs that are available in the industry have their limitations since the user has to predetermine which minerals are present and solve for the most likely candidates. If the lithology changed from one depositional environment to another, the user had to adjust which minerals to solve for across these different intervals. If the user was in error in solving for the appropriate minerals, the final PHIE could be in error.

After months of development and comparing results to core data, NuTech Energy released Complex Vision as a new service. Complex Vision not only determines which minerals to solve for, it also solve for porosity that is not connected (or non-connected vugs).  Permeability relationships are then utilized from the connected pore space to compute absolute perm.

The advantage of Complex Vision is that the user does not have to decide which minerals to solve for or to change which minerals need to be solved for across different geologic horizons. The program solves for the different minerals based on where the individual points fall within quadrants of data points and even works in organic shale intervals. Some programs always compute a fraction of each mineral solved for, but not Complex Vision.  Complex Vision differs from most industry models as it will not compute a value for a mineral that is not present.

Complex Vision takes the guess work out of complex lithology problems and provides a reliable, effective, and connected pore space solution.
